Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using BestRate.lk. These terms govern your access to and use of our financial intelligence platform and all related tools.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BestRate.lk and any of its tools — including FundaBoard (CSE fundamental analysis) and Best Loan (bank loan comparison) — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and others who access the Service.
2. Description of the Service
BestRate.lk is an independent financial intelligence platform designed for Sri Lankan investors and consumers. It currently offers: • FundaBoard — a fundamental analysis dashboard for stocks listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), featuring proprietary FundaIndex scoring, historical data, sector comparisons, and the Benjamin AI analyst. • Best Loan — a bank loan comparison tool (launching soon) allowing users to compare home, personal, and vehicle loan rates across Sri Lanka's major banks. All content is aggregated from publicly available sources and is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
3. No Financial Advice
Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Analytical outputs — including FundaIndex scores, signals labelled "Fundamentally Strong", "Neutral", or "Fundamentally Weak", AI-generated commentary by Benjamin, and loan comparison tables — are informational tools only, not personalised recommendations. You are solely responsible for any investment or financial decisions you make. BestRate.lk strongly recommends consulting a licensed financial advisor registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) before making any investment or financial decision.
4. User Accounts
To access premium features of FundaBoard, you must create an account. You are responsible for: • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. • All activities that occur under your account. • Ensuring all information you provide is accurate and current. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. You may not share login credentials with others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Free Trial & Subscription
FundaBoard currently offers a 3-month free trial for new registered users. After the trial period, continued access to premium features may require a paid subscription. Subscription pricing and terms will be communicated prior to any charges being applied. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or introduce pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms. (b) Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other accounts, or related systems. (c) Reproduce, distribute, resell, or commercially exploit any content without prior written permission from BestRate.lk. (d) Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Service. (e) Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity. (f) Upload or transmit any harmful, offensive, or malicious content.
7. Data Accuracy, Errors & Limitations
While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, BestRate.lk makes no warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of the data provided. The platform processes large volumes of financial data from multiple sources and may contain: • Typographical or data entry errors in financial figures, company names, or stock codes. • Calculation errors in derived metrics (e.g. PE ratio, FundaIndex scores, loan EMI figures). • Delays or discrepancies between our displayed data and official company filings or CSE announcements. BestRate.lk accepts no responsibility for any such errors. All content is provided for educational purposes only. Do not rely on this platform as a sole or primary basis for any financial decision. Always verify critical data directly from official sources including the Colombo Stock Exchange (cse.lk), SEC of Sri Lanka (sec.gov.lk), and the respective bank or financial institution.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to the FundaIndex scoring methodology, design elements, UI components, algorithms, and the "Benjamin" AI persona — are the intellectual property of BestRate.lk and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is strictly prohibited.
9. Third-Party Services
BestRate.lk integrates with certain third-party services including Supabase (for authentication and data storage) and Google AI (to power the Benjamin AI analyst). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BestRate.lk, its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Modifications to the Service & Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
