Purpose of This Disclosure
This Disclosure Statement is provided in the interest of full transparency regarding BestRate.lk's business model, data sources, relationships, and any potential conflicts of interest. We believe our users deserve to know exactly how the platform operates and how decisions about the Service are made.
Business Model
BestRate.lk is currently offered as a free platform. Future monetisation may include: • Premium subscription tiers for extended FundaBoard access beyond the 3-month free trial. • API access for institutional or developer users. We do not currently receive and will not accept commissions, referral fees, or payments from any company whose securities or loan products are featured on the platform. Our rankings and scores are determined solely by objective data and our proprietary methodology — not by commercial relationships.
Data Sources
The data presented on BestRate.lk is sourced from publicly available information including: • Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) daily market data and company filings. • LOLC Securities "Comps Sheet" (a publicly distributed daily research document). BestRate.lk uses this data for internal data processing and gives attribution accordingly. We have no commercial relationship with LOLC Securities. • Sri Lankan bank and financial institution websites for loan rate data (Best Loan). • Company annual reports and quarterly financial statements. No data source compensates BestRate.lk for featuring or presenting their data.
FundaIndex Scoring Methodology
The FundaIndex is BestRate.lk's proprietary 5-pillar scoring system for CSE-listed stocks. It aggregates publicly available fundamental metrics — profitability, valuation, dividend yield, asset quality, and market liquidity — into a composite score out of 100. The weightings and rules of the FundaIndex are configured by BestRate.lk and may be updated over time as the platform evolves. Current weightings and calculation rules are visible within the FundaBoard platform for registered users. No company pays to receive a higher FundaIndex score.
AI Disclosure (Benjamin)
Benjamin, BestRate.lk's AI investment analyst, is powered by Google AI (Gemini). Responses generated by Benjamin are AI-generated and may contain inaccuracies or reflect the limitations of the underlying language model. Benjamin's responses are clearly marked as AI-generated and include a disclaimer that they constitute educational analysis only, not investment advice. BestRate.lk is responsible for the system prompts and guidelines that govern Benjamin's behaviour, but cannot guarantee the accuracy of all AI-generated outputs.
Conflicts of Interest
BestRate.lk declares the following: • The platform's operators may personally hold positions in CSE-listed securities. This does not influence the FundaIndex scoring methodology, which is rule-based and applied uniformly. • No advertiser or sponsor influences editorial or analytical content on the platform. • BestRate.lk has no material relationship with any bank, brokerage, or financial institution featured on the platform. If any material conflict of interest arises in the future, it will be disclosed here promptly.

BestRate.lk is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) as an investment advisor, analyst, or any other regulated category of financial service provider.
